I currently have a bagless Bissell. I thought it was doing a good job until my mom brought her Kirby to my new house and got alot more dirt out! So I am thinking about a new vac. My mom loves her Kirby, it’s like 15 years old but still does a great job..and it’s self-propelled:) But they are sooo expensize! My dad loves their Electrolux. It also does a good job but I hate dragging around the tank and the wand. So does anyone have any suggestions for a good vac that won’t break me? I’d really like to not have to spend over $500. I don’t have any pets in the house and the windows are new and tight so we don’t have much dust coming in either. Mainly it’s just what we track in on our shoes and then food particles.

Worked great for the floors and the very short shag rugs but not the med-long shag. I then bought a Bissell lightweight Powerforce with 5 height adjustments. Even on the highest adjustment it sucks up the rugs (even the longest shag) and clogs the machine. What should I be using? Maybe a hand vac without a rotating brush? Are they powerfull enough? Thanks folks!!!!

Really hoping I can get some help on this one. My rescue girl, no matter how hard I try, still doesn’t have the housetraining thing down (she’s over a year old and I have had her for four months now). I’m not giving up, still working hard, but her urine stains on the carpet are getting pretty noticeable.
I need advice on a good cleaner. I currently have Bissell Pet Stain Remover foam (it has a brush on the head), but it’s really not doing the trick. I’m desperate here. Anyone help me out?
Also have the Pet Fresh stuff from Arm-n-Hammer that your sprinkle on the carpet and vacuum up to keep the carpet smelling fresh…anything better than that? Febreeze only seems to mask it.
Any and all advice would be hugely appreciated. Thank you so much!

We have had this carpet for only 5 months and it was brand new when it was put in we have had my puppy for the same amount of time we have had the carpet. It is hard to train my puppy because we live in the northern part of the states so the winters are really cold here and we got her during the winter and she is a small dog she is a toy fox terrier and she would freeze to death if we would take her out side. The winters here are in the negative numbers all winter long and a little bit in the spring. We also live in an upstairs apartment so that is also an inconvenience. So she would always pee and poop in the floor but when we first got her she did her business on the puppy pad. So now my carpet smells like pee i can smell it when i walk in the house. I always clean up her pee with first putting down baking soda over the pee and then when that dried i would use a shop vac and then i would use a stain and odor remover and scrub the area and then i would vacuum over that when it dries. So last month and yesterday i used a Bissell pro heat 2 and it still smells a little even after i rinsed the carpet on the water only dial. I did exactly how the instructions say on how to use it properly. Why does it still smell bad? How can i get the smell to come out? would it be ok if i used the bissel proheat once a month? I cant get new carpet because i live in an apartment on a military base and we have to ask them before we can do anything like that and they dont know we have a puppy yet so we could get in trouble for it because we are supposed to get her registered and microchipped but we have never done that yet. What else can i do to clean my carpet better there are no staines it looks clean it just smells bad? I dont have white carpet it is kind of a dark beige would it be ok to put a little bit of bleach in the water of my bissel and it wouldnt mess up the carpet when it is mixed with the cleaning solution or make bleach spots on my carpet?
