What Is The Best Vacuum For Area Rugs With Several Different Shag Lenghts?

Written By: admin on December 13, 2009 2 Comments

Hey! I have terazzo floors throughout my apartment with several diffrent area rugs. I originally bougfht a Swivel Sweeper w/rechargable battery. Worked great for the floors and the very short shag rugs but not the med-long shag. I then bought a Bissell lightweight Powerforce with 5 height adjustments. Even on the highest adjustment it sucks up the rugs (even the longest shag) and clogs the machine. What should I be using? Maybe a hand vac without a rotating brush? Are they powerfull enough? Thanks folks!!!!

Hi, A friend recently bought a Eureka boss smart vac ultra 4870 and she loves it. It works well on a shag rug that she has as you can turn off the brush bar for delicate rugs. She said it was recommended by a leading consumer magazine and rated right up there with higher priced vacuums. It was priced around 150.00 and really cleans carpets and bare floors. Has hepa filtration, 8 carpet settings, convenient tools and ability to control suction when using tools. Hope this helps.
